According to Gwangsan District on the 13th, the distribution of Gwangsan Citizen Masks was promoted to encourage foreign residents to participate in social distancing and other infectious disease prevention activities.
A total of about 2,500 masks have stickers with COVID-19 prevention guidelines in five languages, including Korean.
Produced as part of the 'COVID-19 Job Creation Project,' the masks are distributed two per person by foreign resident support organizations.
A Gwangsan District official said, "As the local spread of COVID-19 has rapidly increased recently, we have taken steps to deliver masks for the safety of both native and migrant residents."
Meanwhile, Gwangsan District, where 54% of Gwangju's foreign residents live, is conducting multilingual interpretation services for foreign residents in self-quarantine, providing multilingual quarantine notices, and distributing promotional materials on prevention guidelines, in addition to this cloth mask distribution.
