Gunsan City Launches Full-Scale Promotion of the 'Fisheries New Deal 300 Project' Bian Island as seen from Gareok Port.

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] Gunsan City, Jeonbuk, is accelerating the 'Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project' to create a better fishing village.

According to the city on the 13th, a total of 55.5 billion KRW will be invested in five project sites to implement the 'Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project,' improving fishing ports and fishing village environments.

In the Gunsan area, following the selection of two districts (Munyeo 2-gu Port, Myeongdo Port) last year, three more sites were selected this year for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project, initiating new projects.

The Munyeo 2-gu and Myeongdo Port New Deal projects completed the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' adjustment review of the basic plan last January after coordinating opinions with residents and project directions. Actual construction will begin this year.

Additionally, the newly launched projects this year at Bian-do, Seonyu 1-gu, and Jangja-do Ports plan to actively gather opinions from residents and experts from the early stages based on preliminary plans to promptly obtain approval from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and carry out substantial projects.

A city official stated, "We will actively develop the rationale for fishing port development to be selected for the Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project again next year," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that as many fishing ports as possible benefit."
