[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver announced on the 13th that it will integrate its AI location recommendation service 'Smart Around' into Naver Maps.
'Smart Around' is a service where AI recommends restaurants or places to visit based on the user's age, location, and time of day. More than 4 million users access it monthly through Naver Green Dot (a blue button displayed on the home screen and at the bottom of detailed search screens).
From today, users can experience the same features as Smart Around on the Naver Maps application, including ▲real-time nearby place recommendations ▲Today's PICK! ▲one-line restaurant review summaries ▲popular nearby themes.
Naver explained that in the future, besides recommending personalized restaurants and places to visit through Smart Around, it plans to link various convenience features such as shopping and lifestyle benefits.
Choi Ji-hoon, Naver's lead manager, said, "Due to Smart Around's nature of recommending based on individual preferences and situations, it often exposes small but attractive stores rather than just popular nearby places. We will strive to help small business owners with AI technology during these difficult times caused by COVID-19."
