Gwangjin-gu Supports 4 Types of Safe Home Sets Including Auxiliary Door Keys for Single Female Households On the 9th, Gwangjin-gu, together with the Gwangjin Police Station and the Women's Division of the Gwangjin-gu Community Security Council, conducted the 'Gwangjin-gu Women’s Safety Village Creation Campaign'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has been selected for the Seoul Metropolitan Government's '2020 Women’s Safe Village' contest and is actively working to create a safe village where women feel secure.

This project was prepared through collaboration between the district office and the Women’s Division of the Gwangjin-gu Community Security Council to raise social awareness of crime prevention against women and to create a safe residential environment for women.

First, the district designated Hwayang-dong, which has the highest number of single-woman households, as the SS Zone (Safe Single Zone) pilot area and will provide the ‘Safe Home 4-piece Set’ to 160 single-woman households residing in Hwayang-dong.

The support target is single-woman households living in rental houses, villas, or one-room apartments in the Hwayang-dong area, where the converted rental price of the residence must be 200 million KRW or less.

The support items include four types: auxiliary door locks, door opening sensors, window locks, and security bars, with installation carried out by the Seoul Gwangjin Regional Self-Support Center Sharing Project Team.

Eligible applicants must complete the application form posted on the district office website by the 31st of this month and submit it to the Gwangjin-gu Family Welfare Division by mail, visit, or email.

In addition, on the 9th, the district held the ‘Gwangjin-gu Women’s Safe Village Creation Campaign’ at the Konkuk University Station intersection together with the Gwangjin Police Station and the Women’s Division of the Gwangjin-gu Community Security Council.

On this day, the district promoted women’s safety projects to residents and distributed promotional items such as masks to residents who participated in the digital sex crime out campaign.

Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “Through this project, we aim not only to establish a safety network for women in the region but also to enhance the overall sense of safety among all local residents. We will do our best to create a dense social safety net where all residents can live without fear of crime.”
