KT Subscription-Based 'Photobook' Service Launch

KT Subscription-Based 'Photobook' Service Launch

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 12th that it will launch a subscription-based ‘Photobook’ service as part of its ongoing ‘Homeconomy’ campaign that started last month. This is the third program following ‘View Family Communication Costs at a Glance’ and ‘Family Phone Sharing’.

The newly introduced Photobook service is a subscription service with a monthly fee. As social distancing continues, KT launched the Photobook service to easily view family members’ appearances, capturing the hearts of families who cannot meet frequently.

The Photobook service caters to customers who want to preserve memories not only of their children’s growth but also trips with friends and lovers, and unforgettable moments with pets. For a monthly fee of 5,000 KRW (VAT included), including shipping, users receive one photobook per month (softcover, 6X6 inch, 26 pages, 22 photos) and can also enjoy the albums they create on Olleh TV.

KT’s Photobook service is provided in partnership with Snaps, the number one photobook company in Korea. It applies a 6-color combination optimized for photo expression, ensuring excellent print quality, and offers AI editing features that allow anyone to easily create photobooks. The AI photo editing app analyzes photos on the smartphone and automatically recommends 22 photos. Additionally, users can select photos themselves or freely add descriptions through text input.

Moreover, users can view digital photobooks on Olleh TV and share them with up to four devices, making it easy to use with family and friends. After linking the smartphone with Olleh TV, users can press ‘#4747 + Confirm’ on the remote or say ‘Photobook’ via voice recognition to instantly view saved photos. This service is expected to become a way to share precious memories of family, lovers, and pets not only by receiving photobooks but also by enjoying them on the home TV.

The Photobook service is provided through the Membership app (available on iPhone devices from the 15th) for membership benefits and easy use. After subscribing to Photobook in the Membership app, users only need to install the photo editor. To commemorate the launch, KT offers the first month free of charge (deducting 1,000 points), and from the second month, users can enjoy a 10% discount, paying 4,500 KRW per month. If monthly production is difficult, users can accumulate production counts over four months to create one premium photobook (hardcopy, 8X8 inch, 26 pages, 22 photos).
