[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The 'Korea Together Sale,' which brought joy to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), small business owners, and consumers alike, comes to a close on the 12th. Throughout the event, celebrities and heads of government agencies directly participated in promotional activities held across the country, supporting conscientious consumption until the very last day.
On the 11th, Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, attended the certificate awarding ceremony for the '2nd Brand K' products held at the COEX East Gate Plaza in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
The event proceeded with Minister Park Young-sun and ambassador, former soccer player Park Ji-sung, awarding certificates to the value-buying characters 'Selly' and 'Bye.' These characters then visited five companies selected as number one in their respective fields to deliver the certificates. Brand K is a luxury brand representing South Korea.
This awarding ceremony was organized as part of the special events for the Korea Together Sale. The Korea Together Sale is a project conducted to revitalize consumer sentiment, which has been depressed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to support sales channels for affected SMEs and small business owners. It started on the 26th of last month and runs until the 12th of this month.
In this Korea Together Sale, not only Minister Park Young-sun but also Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance; Cho Myung-rae, Minister of Environment; Moon Sung-hyuk, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries; Lee Jung-ok, Minister of Gender Equality and Family; Kim Hyun-soo, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; and Sung Yun-mo, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy appeared on live commerce platforms to sell products from SMEs and small business owners, earning the title of 'Sold-Out Ministers.'

Kim Hak-do, President of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, also participated in the 'SME Corporation Values Traditional Markets' campaign held on the 10th at Yeongdeungpo Central Market in Seoul. This campaign was organized to join the Korea Together Sale and to support small business owners affected by COVID-19.
President Kim Hak-do and about 70 executives and employees participated in the campaign to revitalize traditional markets. The staff carried out shopping for various goods and food items and distributed 500 reusable shopping bags to citizens visiting the market to reduce the use of disposable products.
The Korea Together Sale is an event hosted by the government and local governments. Minister Park Young-sun said, "I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who empathizes with the meaning of the Together Sale and actively participates. I hope that until the last day of the Together Sale, it will be a time that brings joy to SMEs, small business owners, and consumers alike through conscientious consumption of excellent SME and small business products."
