On the afternoon of the same day, Governor Kim posted on his social media service (SNS), "With a heavy and devastated heart," and said, "I offer my condolences to the bereaved family who are immersed in great sorrow."
He then referred to Mayor Park as "someone who was always a reliable support for juniors."
Governor Kim said, "On the path of local autonomy innovation, Mayor Park's footsteps are clearly imprinted, serving as a milestone."
Governor Kim Kyung-soo said, "I bid a heavy-hearted farewell to Mayor Park Won-soon, who loved his hometown Gyeongnam more than anyone," and added, "Mayor, now lay down all your burdens and rest in peace."
