Suncheon City Council Urges Passage of the "Local Autonomy Act Complete Amendment Bill" On the 10th, Park Jong-ho, a member of the Suncheon City Council, urged the passage of the "Local Autonomy Act Complete Amendment Bill" at the extraordinary session.

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Suncheon City Council (Chairman Heo Yoo-in) urged the resolution of the "Local Autonomy Act Amendment Bill" to strengthen local decentralization at the 1st plenary session of the 244th extraordinary session held on the 10th.

Park Jong-ho, who proposed the urging resolution, emphasized, "It is a mission of the times to establish horizontal governance between the state and local governments through local decentralization and to create an institutional framework that allows local governments and residents to solve regional issues on their own."

Additionally, Representative Park expressed strong regret, saying, "It was an irresponsible attitude that the 20th National Assembly ultimately did not submit the 'Local Autonomy Act Amendment Bill' to the plenary session," and stated, "The same bill, which was automatically discarded with the end of the 20th National Assembly, was re-submitted to the 21st National Assembly after the government's legislative notice on May 29."

Through the resolution, the Suncheon City Council urged ▲ The 21st National Assembly to promptly process the "Local Autonomy Act Amendment Bill," which will be the cornerstone of local autonomy and regional balanced development ▲ The government and the National Assembly to actively strive to establish an institutional foundation for expanding local decentralization and establishing local governments, which is a mission of the times ▲ The government and the National Assembly to make efforts so that matters related to expanding policy personnel to enhance the expertise of local councils and the independence of personnel authority can be applied to basic councils.

Meanwhile, the urging resolution passed at the plenary session on the day is scheduled to be sent to the President, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and others.
