[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 10th that it has selected the ‘2020 Reading Dong-gu, Book of the Year’ to create a happy humanities city through local residents' reading activities, and will promote the ‘Book of the Year’ reading relay to revitalize social reading.
The ‘Book of the Year’ is a grassroots reading movement where selected books, chosen through recommendations from reading experts and citizen participation, are read and discussed together. Related reading culture programs such as a post-reading activity citizen contest linked to the selected book, author invitation lectures, and book picnics will continue until the end of the year.
The ‘Book of the Year’ reading relay is open to any citizen who loves books, forming teams of three or more people, and will continue until the 28th of next month.
Applications for participation are open until the 20th, and applicants can visit the integrated library website ‘Gwangju Metropolitan City Dong-gu Library’, fill out the application form, and submit it via email.
