Gwangyang City Recruiting 35 'Youth Administrative Interns' for Work and Experience Opportunities

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 10th that it will recruit 35 summer youth administrative interns from the 13th to the 27th.

The Youth Administrative Intern Program is a project that provides local university students with the opportunity to participate in city administration, fostering public service and social life experience, attachment to the region, and a spirit of volunteerism, while promoting career exploration opportunities and increasing understanding of administration.

The city will accept applications until the 27th and select candidates through an electronic public lottery, with plans for them to gain administrative experience in each department starting from the 3rd of next month.

The eligibility criteria are university students aged 18 to 39 who are registered residents in the region; those on leave of absence can also apply, and the location of the university does not affect eligibility.

Applications can be submitted by visiting, mailing, or emailing the Gwangyang City Strategic Policy Office with documents such as a resume, personal information consent form, resident registration certificate, and enrollment (or leave of absence) certificate.

Selected administrative interns will work for four weeks from August 3rd to 28th, working 3 hours in the morning or 4 hours in the afternoon per day, and will receive wages including weekly holiday allowance.

Cho Sun-mi, head of the Strategic Policy Office, said, “Gwangyang City’s youth will be able to develop practical skills and strengthen job-seeking capabilities through the administrative intern experience,” adding, “We will continue to create a livable Gwangyang City for young people through various youth policy projects.”
