[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] Iksan City in Jeonbuk received high scores in citizen participation indicators, ranking first in the province in this year's local government joint evaluation.

According to the city on the 10th, in this year's 'Local Government Joint Evaluation' announced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the city achieved 51 out of 58 quantitative indicators, achieving a rate of 87.9%, the highest score.

The government joint evaluation is a comprehensive evaluation system aimed at securing efficiency, accountability, and integration in national administration by assessing local governments' progress on major national policies. It is based on the previous year's performance.

In this joint evaluation, the city received high scores in areas such as resolving regulatory difficulties through behavior improvement, spreading eco-friendly vehicles, the amount and increase of recyclable materials collected per resident, and the pneumonia vaccination rate for seniors aged 65 and older.

A city official said, "The high score in the government joint evaluation is thanks to the mature civic consciousness of the citizens," adding, "Although there are many difficulties in achieving goals this year due to restrictions on face-to-face services, we will strengthen interdepartmental cooperation to receive good evaluations."
