Geochang Area Youth Growing Up as Cultural and Artistic Planners!
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] Geochang County in Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it is recruiting trainees to participate in an educational program for training young professionals and developing local cultural and artistic content to promote Geochang as a cultural city until the 16th.
The ‘Young Cultural Arts Planner Training Academy’ being implemented this time is a project selected through a public contest for the ‘Young Cultural Arts Content Planning Support Project’ in response to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) announced in May.
The academy, held in the seminar room of the Geochang Cultural Center, is scheduled to run for six weeks from July 22 to August 28.
This project is characterized by the fact that the instructors are experts from various fields in the Geochang area and that the academy content is directly linked to Geochang.
By fostering professional planners related to the cultural city project promoted by the county, it is expected to contribute to resolving the imbalance in the supply and demand of cultural planners within the region.
Gu In-mo, the governor of Geochang County, said, “I hope this project can serve as a catalyst for the Geochang cultural city creation project,” adding, “I also hope it will contribute to creating youth jobs through training personnel such as the Cultural City Action Group.”
Min Byung-joo, director of the 21C Cultural Arts Policy Research Institute, who planned this project, also said, “I hope that many young planners who are passionate about local culture and arts will be produced through this opportunity and become a driving force in creating the Geochang cultural city.”
