[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Most of the detailed specifications of the Galaxy Note20, set to be released next month, have been revealed, along with a video of a product presumed to be the actual device. The price is expected to be similar to that of its predecessor, the Galaxy Note10.

On the 9th (local time), the Galaxy Note20 Ultra passed the US FCC certification, revealing specifications such as the model number and chipset. The model number of the Galaxy Note20 Ultra is SM-N986, equipped with Qualcomm's SDX55M modem.

The Galaxy Note20 will be released in two versions: a 6.7-inch standard model and a 6.9-inch Ultra model. The Ultra model's display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and features an LPTO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) display, which is expected to reduce power consumption. The refresh rate refers to the number of times the display shows frames per second, with higher rates resulting in smoother screen transitions.

The Galaxy Note20 released in the US will be equipped with the Snapdragon 865+ chipset. Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 865+ on the 9th, a 5G mobile chipset that offers 10% faster graphics performance and supports over one billion color tones. The Snapdragon 865+ will make its debut in the smartphone market with the Galaxy Note20 series.

A video showing the Galaxy Note20 Ultra model in operation was also released on the 8th (local time) via the YouTube channel JimmyIsPromo. The product model in the video is SM-N986U, matching the Galaxy Note20 Ultra model number known from FCC and Bluetooth certifications, and it runs on the Android 10 operating system. The display is flatter, with only the left and right edges curved when held in hand.

Compared to the Galaxy Note10, the camera module is larger and thicker, intensifying the 'camera bump' effect. The Galaxy Note20 Ultra is likely to feature 50x zoom instead of 100x zoom. The camera module video released also omitted the '100x' marking found on the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The Ultra model will be equipped with a 108-megapixel camera.

The S Pen of the Galaxy Note20, which is updated with new features every year, will include a laser pointer function. It will also be possible to change the pointer color to match the screen color. The slot for the S Pen has moved from the right side to the left. JimmyIsPromo explained, "You can select the S Pen pointer color and icon, and highlight the desired area."

There are also predictions that the price of the Galaxy Note20 will be lower than its predecessor. IT specialist Twitter user Ice Universe estimated the Galaxy Note20 price at $999 (approximately 1,193,000 KRW) and the Galaxy Note20 Ultra at $1,299 (about 1,550,000 KRW). Based on North American prices, the Ultra model is the same as the previous generation, while the lower model is $50 cheaper than the previous Galaxy Note10 ($1,049).

The domestic retail price is expected to be similar to or slightly lower than the previous model. The Galaxy Note10 released last year was priced at 1,248,500 KRW, and the Galaxy Note10 Plus model at 1,496,000 KRW. The Galaxy S20 series was launched in the 1.24 million to 1.59 million KRW range, and due to price increases and low official subsidies, the smartphone market experienced difficulties in the first half of the year, making it difficult to raise prices. The Galaxy Note20's domestic release date is reported to be August 21.
