Kakao Returns to Normal Work Schedule After 4 Months... Naver Implements Rotational Work System

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao has returned to normal work operations after four months.

According to Kakao on the 10th, Kakao employees have been working normally since the 7th. Previously, Kakao implemented a 'work-from-home system' for all employees starting February 25th, during the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Since April, considering work efficiency, they maintained a 'rotational work system' with one day per week in the office and four days working from home.

Based on their experience with remote work, Kakao is continuing discussions on introducing new work systems. A Kakao representative stated, "We plan to attempt pilot operations including remote work, considering the characteristics of each organization's tasks."

Earlier, on the 6th, Kakao co-CEO Yeo Min-su attended a forum held at the National Assembly and said, "Remote work can proceed well only when there is mutual trust between the crew (employees)," adding, "It was a valuable opportunity to reaffirm that."

Meanwhile, Naver has decided to extend its system of coming to the office twice a week and working from home three times a week until the 24th.
