[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Welcome Savings Bank has introduced the QR code simple payment service for the first time in the savings bank industry.
Welcome Savings Bank announced on the 10th that it has added a QR payment function to the Welcome Digital Bank (Welbang) application.
This service is the first among savings banks and is implemented through a business agreement between Welcome Savings Bank and BC Card.
It is available at BC Card merchants that support QR payments. Anyone with a Welcome Savings Bank check card can use it through the Welbang app. After biometric authentication such as fingerprint or Face ID, or a simple password, a QR code is generated.
A company official said, "As a lifestyle financial platform, electronic payment services are an essential service," and added, "We are pleased to provide QR payment services to customers at more merchants through collaboration with BC Card, and we will continue to strive to offer more efficient financial services."
