Twenty-two middle and high schools nationwide will wear Hanbok uniforms.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation announced on the 9th that they have selected twenty-two schools as pilot schools for Hanbok uniforms. Schools that already receive uniform support from their city or province include Incheon Physical Education High School (Incheon), Dongducheon Girls' Middle School, Bucheon Buk High School, Eoyu Middle School, Taeseong High School, Paju Gwangil Middle School (all in Gyeonggi), Namwon Gugak Arts High School, Yeongseon Middle School (both in Jeonbuk), Gangjin Jakcheon Middle School, Goheung Girls' Middle School, Suncheon Electronics High School (all in Jeonnam), and Yaro High School (Gyeongnam), totaling twelve schools. They receive support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for Hanbok designer dispatch and prototype production.

Schools that previously did not receive support will be provided with uniform distribution as well. These include Seoul Agricultural School, Seoul Urban Science and Technology High School, Yangcheon Middle School (all in Seoul), Gyeongil Girls' High School (Daegu), Gwangil High School, Imgok Middle School (both in Gwangju), Minjok Leadership Academy (Gangwon), Boeun High School (Chungbuk), Daechang Middle School, and Hamchang High School (both in Gyeongbuk), totaling ten schools. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "They may receive winter uniforms as early as October."

Uniform distribution is supported with a limit of 300,000 KRW per person, covering one set of winter uniforms and one set of summer uniforms, following the Ministry of Education's recommendation. The target includes four grades over three years. The Korea Craft & Design Foundation evaluated production companies based on their experience in making group uniforms, production facilities, and after-sales service capabilities, and designated four companies last month. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official said, "We plan to ensure that uniform manufacturers maintain prices even after the support period ends."
