Gochang County Governor Yugi-sang Urges Restraint in Religious Activities and Use of Multi-use Facilities

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Yoo Gi-sang, former governor of Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, announced a "Great Citizen Address" on the 9th through the county website, requesting restraint in religious activities and the use of multi-use facilities, and strengthening social distancing.

In the address, Governor Yoo stated, "Recently, the first confirmed case occurred in Gochang-gun, and sporadic infections continue mainly in the adjacent Gwangju and Jeonnam areas," adding, "Gochang-gun recognizes the current situation as very serious and severe, and has temporarily suspended the operation of multi-use facilities such as senior centers in each eup and myeon, public job projects, and sports facilities."

He continued, "The risk of importation from overseas is also increasing, so now is the time to tighten measures to prevent community transmission of COVID-19."

Accordingly, the county decided to actively participate in 'Social Distancing Level 1 (Distancing in Daily Life)' and asked citizens to cooperate by ▲ refraining from religious activities on weekends ▲ refraining from using multi-use facilities such as indoor sports facilities, singing rooms, PC rooms, and academies ▲ participating in social distancing ▲ and strictly following personal hygiene rules such as hand washing and wearing masks.

He further explained, "We are well aware that many citizens are suffering greatly due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, but strong distancing is necessary to return to peaceful daily life," adding, "Although everyone is tired and struggling, if we embrace our neighbors beside us and unite our strength, we can overcome this difficult situation together."

He concluded, "Going forward, the county will mobilize all available resources and share all information quickly, accurately, and transparently," and said, "We once again ask for the active cooperation of all citizens to prevent the local spread of COVID-19."
