Changwon City Council Holds Inauguration Ceremony for 'Green Umbrella Children's Council'

Fostering Child Participation and Democratic Citizenship Awareness Through Parliamentary Visits

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] The Changwon City Council in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that it held the inauguration ceremony of the ‘Chorokwoosan Children's Council’ and provided a time for child council members to tour and experience the council.

The inauguration ceremony was held on the 8th, and the ‘Chorokwoosan Children's Council’ is an organization under the Chorokwoosan Children's Foundation Gyeongnam Child Advocacy Center, composed of representative children from the Changwon area.

At the ceremony, the council and the children's council discussed child-related issues and proposed policies.

Also, the 25 child council members who completed the inauguration ceremony toured the main assembly hall of the council.

The children listened to a vivid explanation of council activities from City Councilor Jeon Hong-pyo and experienced being council members.

No Chang-seop, Vice Chairman of the Changwon City Council, said, “I hope that through the experience of the children's council, they will acquire the qualities of citizens in a sound democratic society and leadership,” adding, “The council will support children so that they can grow into great contributors to the nation and society with dreams and hopes.”
