K-Series Launch in 6 Countries Including Panama and Peru This Month
Expanding Lineup with 'Stylo 6' Release in North America
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] LG Electronics is launching its value-oriented K series smartphones in the South American market and stepping up its global expansion.
On the 9th, LG Electronics announced that it will introduce value-oriented smartphones ‘LG K61’, ‘LG K51S’, and ‘LG K41S’ in six countries including Panama, Peru, and Costa Rica within this month.
In May, the K series was launched in Mexico, Brazil, and South Korea (model name LG Q61). So far, the K series has been released in 15 countries. The number of countries for release is expected to expand in the third quarter.
Despite being value-oriented, the K series is highly competitive with features such as a quad camera, 6.5-inch large display, and a large-capacity battery. It has passed the U.S. Department of Defense’s military standard ‘Military Spec’, which requires durability standards for temperature, humidity, vibration, and shock.
In May, LG Electronics expanded its value smartphone lineup in the North American market by launching the ‘LG Stylo 6’ with a built-in stylus pen. So far, a total of six Stylo series models have been released in the North American market.
The Stylo 6, priced in the $200 range, features a 6.8-inch large display and a 4000mAh large-capacity battery. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel front camera and rear cameras consisting of 13-megapixel standard, 5-megapixel ultra-wide, and 5-megapixel depth cameras.
Jung Suheon, Vice President of LG Electronics MC Overseas Sales Group, said, “We will continue to release value products with essential features and price competitiveness to broaden customers’ choices.”
