[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Baek Jong-won of 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant' expressed disappointment with the taste of a handmade frozen pork cutlet shop in Pohang.
On the 8th, the SBS entertainment program 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant' aired a segment featuring Baek Jong-won visiting Kkumteul-ro in Pohang.
That day, Baek Jong-won asked the pork cutlet shop owner, "Did you originally work in food?" to which the owner replied, "I have never learned it."
After tasting the pork cutlet, Baek Jong-won said, "The pork cutlet sauce is delicious. I didn't have high expectations since you said you used blended fruit," and the owner revealed, "I made it myself."
However, after tasting the cheese pork cutlet, Baek Jong-won criticized, "The meat is dry," adding, "The meat lacks freshness. It feels like it was frozen and fried, like something bought at a supermarket and cooked."
Then, after drinking a beverage made with the owner's handmade green citron syrup, Baek Jong-won said, "It's delicious," and advised, "It might be better to focus on a handmade tea specialty shop."
After the tasting, Baek Jong-won inspected the kitchen and said, "The cups are pretty. It seems like a tea house suits you."
However, the owner said, "When I do something, I do it diligently. I've been making syrup for two years, so I have a lot of experience," and added, "Handmade syrup might be easier for now, but I want to do pork cutlet. I will work hard on pork cutlet just like I did with fruit syrup," showing passion for pork cutlet.
