[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) operates the youth activity space 'Yuyu Base,' which runs a 'Youth Project' to help reflect young people's innovative ideas in municipal administration and contribute to the development of the local community.
Supported by Incheon City and the Incheon Resident Participatory Budget Center, this project selects creative ideas from young people through a public contest and provides funding to help implement them.
The support areas include communication and sharing campaigns related to social issues, unique competitions, independent publishing or creative content production, youth education such as training female technicians, and projects to revitalize youth employment.
Applications are open for innovative ideas such as solutions for youth housing issues, youth culture revitalization plans, eco-friendly projects, and research and development of niche distribution systems.
Incheon TP plans to select five ideas and provide up to 10 million KRW per project for business and activity expenses.
Eligible applicants are teams or groups of two or more young people aged 19 to 39 residing in Incheon. Proposals and related documents can be submitted through the Yuyu Base website (www.inuu.kr) by the 22nd.
Opened in October 2017 on the 15th floor of Jemulpo Smart Town with support from Incheon City, Yuyu Base has become a representative youth hub institution in Incheon, with over 45,700 young people having used the facility to date.
