[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] KOTRA announced on the 8th that it has been holding the CIS Online Korean Excellent Products Exhibition for three weeks since the 29th of last month. A total of 164 small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies from Korea participated in this online Korean products exhibition.

KOTRA had planned to hold an offline exhibition in Moscow to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Korea-Russia diplomatic relations in the second half of this year, but switched to an online marketing project due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The exhibition is being conducted as an ‘Online Export Package Support Project’ including online exhibitions, video consultations, and social media marketing.

Preparing for the post-COVID era, KOTRA selected promising items for the Russian and CIS markets. A total of 260 products in beauty, food, healthcare, and smart farming are being promoted on the online exhibition platform ‘BuyKorea’, and buyer video consultations are supported. Social media marketing using local influencers is also being carried out as a follow-up project to help Korean companies enter online and offline distribution channels.

Additionally, web seminars introduce entry strategies for Russian and CIS distribution networks. In the K-beauty and K-food sectors, the drugstore ‘Watsons’ and the Far East regional distribution network ‘Nevada’ present strategies, while in the home appliance market, Russia’s second-largest distribution network ‘DNS’ takes the lead.

Kwon Pyung-oh, President of KOTRA, said, “Preparing for the post-COVID era, we will hold online Korean product exhibitions in the U.S., Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Latin America markets in the second half of the year to find new export channels for our products.”
