[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Seven Eleven is conducting its third project to support local farms struggling due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Seven Eleven announced on the 8th that it will sell new potatoes (5kg) produced in Boseong and Muan, Jeonnam Province, through the mobile app (Seven App) agricultural products section called ‘Seven Farm’ until the end of this month.
The new potatoes from Jeonnam introduced by Seven Eleven this time are selected only if they are king special size (tennis ball size), which is the most preferred size for various home cooking, weighing over 170g. The selling price is 10,800 KRW (1 box), which is about 20% cheaper than the general market price.
To purchase, access the Seven App mobile app, go to the ‘Pre-order’ menu in the ‘Seven Farm’ section, reserve the new potatoes, and select the desired store and date for pickup. When the ordered product arrives at the designated store, a product exchange voucher message is sent to the customer, who can then visit the store to receive the product.
To commemorate the launch of the new potatoes, Seven Eleven has prepared a special event where customers can purchase them for only 5,000 KRW, a 54% discount from the regular price, when paying with L-Pay (limited to the first 1,000 customers). The discounted amount will be paid back as L-Points the following month, and each customer can purchase up to 3 boxes.
Previously, Seven Eleven started a local agricultural product sales project to help local farms affected by COVID-19, selling Yeongcheon peeled garlic (April) and Muan new onions (May).
