Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and Apink Present Gyeonggi-do 'Online Travel'

Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and Apink Present Gyeonggi-do 'Online Travel'

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Tourism Organization is presenting weekly travel stories of the idol group Apink in Gyeonggi-do.

Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that starting from the 7th, it will launch Apink's Gyeonggi-do travel series titled "A Special Travel Route Designed by My Idol" to comfort residents exhausted by COVID-19.

Apink travels around various locations in the province while conducting photo shoots for their 10th anniversary commemorative calendar.

The organization explained that due to the recent popularity of "virtual travel" through SNS, where people upload past travel photos or experience trips indirectly amid COVID-19, they planned and produced virtual travel content featuring K-pop idols in collaboration with Kakao M's global K-pop representative media 1theK.

A representative from Gyeonggi Tourism Organization said, "K-pop is a representative Hallyu content, and idol music video and photo shoot locations have become pilgrimage sites and travel destinations for fans," adding, "We expect this to be an effective way to promote Gyeonggi-do to overseas fans and provide vicarious satisfaction to domestic fans, encouraging future visits."

The content will be uploaded as a series every Tuesday at 8 PM throughout July. It can be viewed on the '1theK' YouTube channel, which has 24 million subscribers worldwide, and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization's 'Check-in Gyeonggi' channel.

Previously, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization held events such as the 'Gyeonggi-do MICE Online Briefing' for MICE scholars and association officials, and the 'Gyeonggi-do Live Tourism Briefing' targeting Singapore, receiving great responses.
