Yangsan-si Holds 'Alley Commercial District and Traditional Market Consumption Promotion Event'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 7th that it held a consumption promotion event involving alleyway commercial districts and traditional markets in connection with the Korea Together Sale.

This event was prepared to recover commercial districts that experienced sales declines due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to revitalize the local economy by attracting customers.

The 'Gyeongnam Alley Small Business Owners Festival' will be held from the 9th to the 15th, with about 230 businesses participating across six commercial districts (Jeolmeum Street Shopping District, Jeungsan Food Alley, Seoksan Shopping District No. 1, Tongdo Culture Street Shopping District, Mulgeum Baekho Village Shopping District, and Pyeongsan-dong Food Alley Shopping District), offering various events.

The city plans to allow temporary parking and stopping around the event area during the event period for smooth operation and will also focus on safety management by implementing daily quarantine guidelines.

Kim Il-kwon, Mayor of Yangsan City, said, “We hope to create a shopping festival where citizens can participate together for alley small business owners struggling due to COVID-19, to stimulate the subdued consumer sentiment and revitalize the local economy.”
