[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Joo-hee] Animal trainer Kang Hyung-wook from 'The Dog is Excellent' took on the training of a problematic Jindo dog with a wolf-like appearance.

On the 6th, the KBS 2TV variety show 'The Dog is Excellent' featured Boreum, a Jindo dog resembling a wolf, as a problematic dog, drawing attention.

Upon meeting Boreum, Yoon Doo-joon said, "I think this is the biggest dog I've ever seen. The intimidation comes from its size," adding, "Senior Kyung-gyu seems like an expert. He was incredibly calm."

To this, Lee Kyung-gyu responded, "Calm? I was in a state of panic," causing laughter.

Kang Hyung-wook expressed surprise, saying, "It's big. Its face looks like Leo's." He added, "Free feeding can be dangerous for Boreum. It can increase territorial behavior. Even if this dog doesn't intend to, it can become sensitive just by me approaching the food."

As Kang Hyung-wook approached, Boreum showed signs of sensitivity. Kang tried to control Boreum by holding the leash, but Boreum, wearing a muzzle, attacked him. When the muzzle was tightened, Boreum resisted fiercely and even bit Kang.

Kang Hyung-wook said, "The owner reacts well. It can be comforting to people, but from the dog's perspective, it can comfort the dog for doing something wrong," adding, "You must not hesitate to express dislike. Are you stubborn? I am stubborn too. You have to express it."

He continued, "Boreum seems to think that everyone entering through the door is a bad person," analyzing, "People he saw during his early years are familiar, but he is wary of those he met afterward. Even at a young age, he judges based on impressions," with the owner strongly agreeing.

Kang Hyung-wook surprised the owner by saying, "Training is impossible right now. We need to instill good habits, but he is not able to accept positive thoughts," adding, "Dogs of this type find it difficult to live with many people."

To correct Boreum's behavior of barking aggressively at strangers, Kang advised, "For a while, do not invite guests into the house; meet them outside instead," and "The owner's son must actively train him. You need to show control and management going forward."
