Gyeonggi Economic Science Institute Supports Rehabilitation Healthcare

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency is launching a rehabilitation healthcare support project.

The Bio Center of the Gyeonggi Economic Science Institute announced on the 7th that it will carry out the "Healing Spa-Based Rehabilitation Healthcare Diversification Project," focusing on the safety, efficacy, and component analysis of rehabilitation healthcare and spa (beauty) consumer products over the next three years.

Healing spa-based rehabilitation healthcare is a rehabilitation project that provides physical and mental peace through restorative hot springs. In South Korea, the population requiring rehabilitation due to physical and mental illnesses and the aging population are rapidly increasing, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation healthcare not only for treatment but also for prevention and post-care management.

The Bio Center expects that the rehabilitation healthcare healing industry will increase sales and exports by approximately 25% each. Additionally, the economic ripple effects are anticipated to include a production inducement effect of 35.4 billion KRW, a value-added inducement effect of 17 billion KRW, and employment inducement of 476 people.

Kim Pan-su, director of the Bio Center, stated, "Through this project, we plan to secure competitiveness in safety and efficacy evaluation technologies for rehabilitation healthcare consumer products and expand support for companies."
