[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 6th that it will jointly produce 30 episodes of the outdoor healing variety program featuring idols, 'Idol Picknic,' with its subsidiaries LG HelloVision and Medialog, and exclusively release them through 'U+ Idol Live' and LG HelloVision local channels.


Idol Picknic stars actor Shin Hyun-joon and comedian Lee Seung-yoon as fixed MCs. They experience local jobs, food, and attractions together with guest idols. This outdoor healing entertainment program features popular idols stepping away from glamorous stages to visit various regions across the country with clean water and fresh air, helping with local work, traveling, and forming empathy with the elderly to cleanse both body and mind.


The program consists of three episodes per idol and is broadcast once a week. Starting from this day, it will be released every Monday at 5 p.m. through LG Uplus's U+ Idol Live mobile and Internet TV (IPTV) apps. It can also be viewed every Thursday at 7:40 p.m. on LG HelloVision's local channel Hello TV channel 25. The first guest is the five-member boy group 'CIX.' They help with local work in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do.


Based on extensive experience producing original content for U+ Idol Live, LG Uplus participated in planning content that can target idol fans. LG HelloVision took charge of content production by utilizing its many years of experience in broadcasting program and content planning and production. Medialog will explore ways to utilize the content after broadcasting.


U+ Idol Live is available for free download and use not only by LG Uplus customers but also by customers of other companies through app markets such as Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and One Store.


Kim Min-gu, head of LG Uplus Mobile Service, said, "We plan to expand jointly produced content with LG HelloVision and Medialog in the future to secure competitiveness in the rapidly changing media environment."
