Chinese Netizens Say, "Many Confirmed Cases Expected at Large Shopping Mall"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] News that a suspected COVID-19 patient roamed around a shopping mall in downtown Beijing is rapidly spreading on Chinese online platforms.
According to Chinese Sina.com and others on the 3rd, a video showing a woman at the large shopping mall Shijing Shan Wanda Plaza in western Beijing breaking into tears after testing positive in a nucleic acid test has gained popularity on Chinese social networking services (SNS) such as Weibo.
In the video, the woman receives a COVID-19 positive confirmation text message sent by Beijing health authorities inside the shopping mall and then collapses, crying loudly.
Subsequently, the Beijing health authorities who arrived on the scene sealed off the restaurant where the woman had lunch and the entire shopping mall, and transported her to a hospital. They are also conducting COVID-19 tests and epidemiological investigations on all employees within the building.
After this news was shared on Chinese Weibo, a post revealing the woman’s movement route after her nucleic acid test was published. According to the post, the woman visited Daweicheng Shopping Mall in Chaoyang District, Zhangying Tianjie Shopping Center, Wangjing SOHO, SKP Department Store, and Shijing Shan Wanda Plaza.
Chinese netizens responded with comments such as, "Most of the shopping malls the woman visited are large, so many confirmed cases are expected," and "I was nearby at a similar time and am worried whether I should get a nucleic acid test as well."
