[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A man in his 30s arrested on suspicion of killing two sisters in Dangjin, Chungnam, reportedly first killed the younger sister with whom he was drinking and then killed the older sister out of fear that she would report him.
The Dangjin Police Department announced on the 3rd that they have apprehended and are investigating A (33) on charges of consecutively killing two sisters in their 30s.
A is suspected of causing the deaths of two sisters in their 30s at an apartment in Dangjin, Chungnam, on the 26th of last month.
It is known that A strangled the younger sister to death after an argument while drinking at home. Afterwards, fearing that the older sister would report him, A went to the older sister’s residence in another apartment within the same complex and killed her as well.
Police investigations revealed that they were acquaintances.
The police responded to a report from the parents on the 1st that they could not contact their children and discovered the deceased sisters.
A police official stated that an autopsy has been requested from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death, and that they plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A.
