[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 2nd, former prosecutor and Future United Party lawmaker Kim Woong sharply criticized Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae, who ordered the suspension of the review process of the expert investigation advisory panel (advisory panel) convened by Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol regarding the so-called 'prosecutor-media collusion suspicion.'

In a post on his Facebook that day, Rep. Kim stated, "The act of causing discord by oneself and committing a violent act to restore order resembles the Manchurian Incident."

He continued, "On September 18, 1931, the Japanese staged a railway bombing incident in Liutiaohu and used it as an opportunity to invade Manchuria," adding, "History remembers what the end of that was."

He also pointed out to Minister Chu, "Why do you not exercise command over power corruption cases that are fading away, such as the Yoo Jae-soo inspection cover-up case, the blacklist case, and the Ulsan mayoral election interference?"

Meanwhile, Minister Chu exercised her command authority under Article 8 of the Prosecutors' Office Act to halt the convening process of the advisory panel to review the 'prosecutor-media collusion suspicion' on the same day.

This is the first time in 15 years since then Minister of Justice Cheon Jeong-bae issued a command for 'non-detention investigation' of Professor Kang Jeong-gu of Dongguk University, who was accused of violating the National Security Law in 2005.
