Noh Young-min, Chief Secretary of the Blue House, Recommends Multiple Homeowners in 청 Secretary Positions to Sell Properties Again... "Must Lead by Example to Meet Public Expectations"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jung-min] President Moon Jae-in is scheduled to receive an urgent report from Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun-mi at 4 p.m. on the 2nd regarding real estate issues. In particular, President Moon emphasized his determination to resolve real estate problems by setting the revision of the Comprehensive Real Estate Holding Tax Act as the top legislative priority for the 21st National Assembly.

Kang Min-seok, the Blue House spokesperson, stated during a briefing at the Chuncheon Press Center on the afternoon of the 2nd, "President Moon Jae-in will receive an urgent report from Minister Kim at 4 p.m. today. There will be a report on real estate measures and presidential instructions."

Spokesperson Kang emphasized, "Before the report, President Moon instructed his aides to review the plan to promote the revision of the Comprehensive Real Estate Holding Tax Act as the government's top legislative priority for the 21st National Assembly."

Spokesperson Kang added, "The revision of the Comprehensive Real Estate Holding Tax Act includes real estate measures such as the strengthening of the tax announced on November 16 last year. However, it failed to pass in the 20th National Assembly, and the government plans to pursue re-legislation."

Spokesperson Kang explained, "The president's instructions demonstrate the government's strong determination to address real estate issues."

Meanwhile, Presidential Chief of Staff Noh Young-min has once again recommended the disposal of multiple homes held by senior Blue House officials. A key Blue House official said, "There was a strong internal recommendation again from Chief of Staff Noh Young-min. He strongly advised that Blue House officials at the secretary level and above, unless legally unable to dispose, should sell all but one house within this month."

The number of multiple-home owners among Blue House officials at the secretary level and above includes those in speculative areas, speculative overheating districts, and regulated areas. Currently, there are 12 multiple-home owners. This number has decreased compared to the initial recommendation made six months ago.

A key Blue House official said, "Chief of Staff Noh acknowledged that most multiple-home ownership among Blue House officials is due to unavoidable reasons, but emphasized that it must meet public expectations and that we must now lead by example, hence the re-recommendation to dispose of real estate," adding, "Chief of Staff Noh himself has decided to dispose of his apartment in Cheongju."

The official continued, "Chief of Staff Noh has tried to sell his house for some time but it did not sell easily, so he has now put it on the market as a quick sale. Afterwards, he personally met with each individual to recommend sales. Although not all details of the meetings were disclosed, it is expected that all decisions will be made within this month."
