[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it resumed operation of the fever screening station at Jindo Bridge from the 1st to block the local inflow of COVID-19.
The county operated the fever screening station at Jindo Bridge from February to May, inspecting 360,000 vehicles and 710,000 people over 72 days, recording zero confirmed cases and establishing itself as "Clean Jindo."
However, due to the recent consecutive confirmed cases in Gwangju and Mokpo, concerns about the inflow of COVID-19 into the local community led to the resumption of the fever screening station operation at Jindo Bridge.
The fever screening station operates around the clock in three shifts with 44 personnel daily at Jindo Bridge, checking the temperature of all occupants in incoming vehicles.
A Jindo-gun official stated, "All public officials will do their best to prevent the inflow of COVID-19 into Clean Jindo together with the residents," and requested, "We ask residents to wear masks to prevent COVID-19 and to comply with preventive measures."
