[Featured Stock] AP Satellite, Growth Expectations from Participation in Satellite Project... 'Rising'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] AP Satellite is on the rise. It appears that securities firms' analysis, which expects continuous performance growth due to participation in multiple satellite development projects, has influenced this trend.

As of 10:40 AM on the 2nd, AP Satellite was trading at 8,220 KRW, up 1.86% (150 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.

AP Satellite is a company engaged in the satellite communication terminal and satellite manufacturing business, developing and producing satellite communication mobile phones. It mainly supplies terminals to THURAYA, one of the world's top five satellite communication operators. Most orders in the satellite manufacturing sector come from government agencies.

SK Securities expects performance growth as AP Satellite newly supplies satellite phones for ships. Seochungwoo, a researcher at SK Securities, said, "Starting this year, we have additionally supplied a marine ship-dedicated phone under the brand 'MarineStar,'" and added, "In the second half of the year, new transactions with global satellite communication companies are expected, so we anticipate high performance growth in this business division."

Along with this, benefits from the growth of the domestic satellite market are also expected. He said, "The golden age of domestically developed indigenous satellites has arrived recently, such as the launch of Cheollian 2B in February," and added, "AP Satellite is participating in multiple projects including next-generation medium-sized satellites, Arirang 6 and 7 satellites, and the lunar exploration test orbiter."

He emphasized, "The development of the representative domestic satellite series, the 'Arirang Satellite,' is also ongoing," and said, "The 6th and 7th satellites are scheduled to be launched in the second half of next year, and AP Satellite is expected to benefit accordingly."
