"'Spent 5 Years Preparing for the President's Safe Retirement'"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Ju-hee] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized on the 1st, saying, "The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (Gong-su-cheo) has long since become the president's retirement insurance," and "The ruling party, government, and Blue House seem to be obsessed with solving the biggest national agenda."
On the same day, former professor Jin posted a piece titled "The Suicide of Reform" on his Facebook, expressing these views.
He said, "Political reform has long been lost," and criticized the government, stating, "They have nullified the electoral district system they introduced through the satellite party and the fast track. Political reform has committed suicide."
He continued, "Prosecutorial reform is also facing collapse. The fact that they are ousting the prosecutor general they appointed means the reform is failing," and claimed, "The prosecution has been completely controlled by the regime."
He also pointed out, "The Gong-su-cheo has long since become the president's retirement insurance," adding, "I don't know what they have done so far. Have there been any advances in inter-Korean relations, education policy, real estate policy, or economic policy? The Moon administration will be recorded as a regime that spent its five years in power preparing for the president's peaceful retirement."
He then remarked, "It's not hard to understand," and noted, "Because this regime was born from the trauma of former President Roh Moo-hyun's death."
Former professor Jin explained, "Everything is focused on securing the president's retirement," saying, "Nullifying the electoral district system was ultimately to secure a stable majority in the legislature, and ousting the prosecutor general and establishing the Gong-su-cheo aim to paralyze investigative agencies to prevent investigations into power corruption."
He added, "What on earth have they done to be so anxious?" and said, "At this point, a social grand agreement is needed to ease the other side's fears through compromise between the ruling and opposition parties, saying, 'We will secure the president's retirement, so please stop destroying the national system.'"
