Certification Ceremony for the Brand Ranked No.1 in the National Brand Competitiveness Index

9 Winners of the No.1 Brand in Domestic Manufacturing Industries by Sector

On the 1st, representatives of the top brands in each domestic manufacturing sector participated in the '2020 National Brand Competitiveness Index (NBCI) No.1 Brand Certification Ceremony in the Manufacturing Sector' hosted by the Korea Productivity Center and took a commemorative photo.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Productivity Center (KPC, Chairman Noh Gyu-seong) announced that on the morning of the 1st, it held the '2020 National Brand Competitiveness Index (NBCI) No.1 Brand Certification Ceremony in the Manufacturing Sector' at Lotte Hotel, Sogong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.

The NBCI was launched in 2004 with the purpose of spreading a management mindset centered on brand value and enhancing national brand value, and this year marks its 17th anniversary. Every year, it announces the competitiveness index of individual brands in 67 industries and 242 brands, with manufacturing in the first half and service industries in the second half. Approximately 35,000 domestic consumers are surveyed through one-on-one individual interviews, and it has established itself as a representative index of domestic corporate brand competitiveness.

The NBCI certification ceremony was newly established this year to reward representatives of companies that have worked hard to enhance corporate brand value and strengthen competitiveness for the No.1 brands in each industry. The Korea Productivity Center conducted the NBCI survey for 123 brands in 36 industries in the first half of this year and announced the survey results on March 9. This certification ceremony was held for the manufacturing sector, whose results were announced in the first half, and executives in charge of the No.1 brands in each domestic manufacturing industry, including Hyundai Motor Company, LG Electronics, Samsung C&T, Youngone Outdoor, Cuckoo Electronics, Hankook Tire & Technology, Winia Dimchae, and Kyungdong Navien, received awards representing each industry. The NBCI for the service sector will be announced in September, and the No.1 brand certification ceremony will be held in October.
