Max Weinbach "Galaxy Watch 3 to be unveiled on July 8, released on the 22nd"
Weather, date, heart rate, step count, and more can now be added to the watch face
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] There are expectations that Samsung Electronics' new smartwatch, the 'Galaxy Watch3,' will be unveiled later this month. It will be able to display heart rate, weather, date, and more on the watch face, and new applications will also be added.
On June 30 (local time), IT tipster Max Weinbach tweeted, "The Galaxy Watch3 is likely to be revealed to the media on July 8 and released two weeks later on the 22nd," adding, "The same goes for the Galaxy Buds Live."
As the launch of the Galaxy Watch3 approaches, information about new software features as well as product images is being revealed. Max Weinbach analyzed, "The Galaxy Watch3's watch face will include a 'Digital Edge' feature that can display weather, step count, heart rate, and more," and "In addition, new weather apps, music widgets, and Outlook will be included in the firmware."
The Digital Edge feature allows users to add necessary information such as heart rate, step count, weather, day of the week, and date to the edges of the watch face screen. This enables viewing only the needed information on the watch screen. With the new weather app installed, clouds or raindrops will appear on the weather app screen when it rains. The 'Samsung Health Monitor' app, which supports blood pressure and electrocardiogram functions, will be pre-installed on domestic products.
Spotify and a new music app will be installed, and the mail app will change from the existing Samsung Mail app to Outlook. However, the MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) function will not be included, so Samsung Pay cannot be used. NFC functionality is supported. The built-in memory is 8GB, with 5.3GB of free space available excluding pre-installed apps.
The Galaxy Watch3 will be released in two versions: 41mm (1.2 inches) and 45mm (1.4 inches), with battery capacities of 247mAh and 340mAh, respectively. A titanium model, which was not available before, will also be added. It supports IP68-rated water and dust resistance, capable of normal operation at a depth of 1.5 meters for over 30 minutes.
