[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Regarding the so-called 'Inkukgong Incident' surrounding the issue of converting security screening personnel at Incheon International Airport Corporation to regular employees, Kim Doo-kwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who has been making candid remarks, responded to criticism accusing him of 'double standards' due to his son's overseas study by saying, "What does reforming the dual labor market structure have to do with my son's studying abroad?"

On the 30th, Kim wrote on his Facebook, "Although it is a baseless attempt to tarnish me, I will say a word," adding, "I have no intention whatsoever of offering my child as prey to those who are experts at digging into families."

He continued, "(My son) went to the UK to major in football sports marketing and returned five years ago," explaining, "Except for briefly working as a non-regular employee during the Pyeongchang Olympics, he is still looking around here and there trying to find a job on his own."

He emphasized, "I condemn the behavior of distorting facts by bringing up irrelevant family matters to exploit youth anger with fake news and sophistry, and to bring down politicians who want to change the world."

Earlier, on the 26th, Kim sparked controversy by saying about the Inkukgong Incident, "It is rather unfair that those who studied a little more and passed the written exam receive about twice the wages of non-regular workers after becoming regular employees."

In response, some criticized him with the implication that "While Kim sent his own children to study abroad, he is labeling young people studying domestically as unfair forces."
