[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] A female college student who appeared on 'Ask Anything' confessed that she suffered from malicious comments about her large face.
On the 29th broadcast of KBS Joy's entertainment program 'Ask Anything,' a female college student appeared and shared her concerns about people teasing her because of the size of her face.
On the show, the guest who met hosts Lee Soo-geun and Seo Jang-hoon said, "People keep telling me my face is big, so this is a really serious concern for me."
After checking the guest's face, Lee Soo-geun said, "Let's take an X-ray photo. Then we can see if it's fat or a skeletal issue," adding, "If it's a skeletal problem, it won't go away even with dieting."
Seo Jang-hoon said, "But from what I see, it's fat. It's not a big face."
The guest revealed, "I walk 30,000 steps a day and consume 500 calories daily, losing a total of 25kg. I'm still losing weight, but there are people who mock me, asking what's the point of losing weight."
He continued, "Some even asked how much my boyfriend cost. The scary thing about crowd psychology is that once one person leaves such a comment, it continues. Among those leaving malicious comments, there were people born in 2004, 6th graders, and middle school students," he lamented.
A friend who appeared with the guest said, "Watching my friend from the side is very heartbreaking."
Seo Jang-hoon advised, "Is it necessary to endure such malicious comments just because you post your daily life on SNS?" and suggested refraining from using SNS.
However, the guest replied, "I'm very interested in fashion and want to open a shopping mall, so I can't give up SNS as it's an important marketing tool."
After hearing the story, Lee Soo-geun criticized netizens who leave malicious comments, saying, "Malicious comments are the problem. If you don't like what you see, you can just not look. Why do you keep looking and leave bad comments?"
In response, Seo Jang-hoon warned, "I can definitely predict that people who write hurtful comments to others will not succeed. What will happen to their lives? Even now, they should use their hearts kindly. The luck that comes back to them disappears because of such actions."
Lee Soo-geun also added, "Those kinds of people will be reborn as soccer field grass. They will be trampled on mercilessly."
