Open Recruitment for Over 40 Employees Across 27 Job Categories
Revised Employee Welfare Benefits Including Unlimited Vacation, Company Housing Support, and 2-Hour Lunch Break
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] E-commerce platform Ballan (CEO Choi Hyung-rok) is launching a large-scale talent recruitment. Ballan announced on the 30th that it will hire more than 40 employees across 27 job categories this year.
The positions Ballan is recruiting for include Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), finance and accounting, head of human resources, senior user experience (UX) designer, senior Node developer, and Ballan Mall e-commerce merchandise planner (MD). Since securing 10 billion KRW in Series A funding last December, Ballan has been aggressively acquiring talent. In particular, they are seeking professionals in developer, UX designer, and product manager (PM) roles. In addition to general recruitment, Ballan is actively recruiting outstanding talent through an internal referral program. Employees who recommend excellent candidates can receive referral bonuses of up to 4 million KRW.
The recruitment process consists of document screening and two rounds of interviews. Required documents include a resume and a self-introduction letter, and portfolios may be requested depending on the position. The first interview assesses whether the candidate is a good fit for Ballan, confirming if they can grow together with Ballan and if they align with Ballan’s organizational culture. The second interview evaluates job competency by reviewing past successes and failures and confirming plans to utilize their skills at Ballan. For developer and design positions, a coding test or design assignment is given after the first interview.
Along with large-scale recruitment, Ballan has expanded its welfare programs. First, all Ballan employees receive points worth 1 million KRW annually to freely use at Ballan Mall. Becoming a Ballan employee means being able to purchase luxury goods worth 1 million KRW every year. They have also addressed employees’ housing burdens. Employees needing funds for monthly rent or lease loans can borrow up to 100 million KRW at an annual interest rate of 1.2%, and for those struggling with long commutes, company-provided housing near the office is available with monthly rent paid. Additionally, unlimited leave is guaranteed by allowing employees who have used all their annual leave to take unpaid leave or advance their next annual leave. On the first anniversary of joining, employees receive 3 days of 'refresh leave' separate from annual leave, 5 days on the second anniversary, and 10 days of paid leave on the third anniversary.
Choi Hyung-rok, CEO of Ballan, said, "Starting with this large-scale recruitment, Ballan’s workforce will grow to about 100 members within this year," adding, "We look forward to talented individuals who will grow together with Ballan."
