[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Amid the recent continued decline in President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for his administration, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon evaluated President Moon on the 29th, saying, "It seems his luck has run out."

Former Professor Jin wrote on his Facebook that day, "President Moon must have saved the country in a past life," expressing this view.

He said, "He came to power through the impeachment candlelight protests and enjoyed high approval ratings, but just as those ratings began to fall, Kim Jong-un suddenly created a peace mood, causing the approval ratings to soar again. When that effect faded, the COVID-19 situation caused the approval ratings to skyrocket once more. But now, it seems that luck has run out."

He continued sarcastically, "The spirit of the candlelight protests was discarded long ago, inter-Korean relations have reverted to the past, and now the COVID-19 national pride effect is gradually subsiding."

President Moon's approval rating for his administration has been declining for five consecutive weeks. According to a weekly survey conducted by Realmeter on behalf of YTN from the 22nd to the 26th, the positive evaluation of President Moon's administration dropped by 0.1 percentage points from the previous week to 53.3%.

This survey contacted 61,340 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with a final response of 2,521 people, recording a response rate of 4.1%. The sampling error is ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.

On the same day, former Professor Jin also claimed in another post that regarding Ewha Womans University professor Cho Gi-sook's criticism of the Moon Jae-in administration's real estate policy, "If Professor Cho has turned away, the situation must be serious," and added, "She is a staunch hardcore pro-Roh who is so strong that it is embarrassing to watch from the sidelines."

Earlier, on the 27th, Professor Cho posted on her Facebook, "I had an opportunity to talk about President Moon's closest aides and real estate," and conveyed, "It is said that President Moon told them, 'Like Japan, our housing prices will collapse, so do not buy houses and wait.'"

She pointed out, "Applying the collapse of Japan's new towns to our country, which has a high concentration in the metropolitan area, does this make sense logically?" and said, "The president must have learned a mistaken myth from his aides in the past; I thought this was a big problem." Subsequently, supporters of President Moon harshly criticized Professor Cho, and the post was deleted on the 29th.
