US COVID-19 New Cases Hit Record High for Three Consecutive Days... Total Exceeds 2.5 Million

CNN reported on the 27th (local time) that, according to data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 5 PM Eastern Time), the number of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. reached 2,504,190.

COVID-19 is rapidly resurging, especially in the southwestern region of the U.S., and just over two weeks after surpassing 2 million cases on the 11th, an additional 500,000 cases have been added.

The statistics site Worldometer also reported the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. as 2,580,387 as of this day, and Reuters reported based on its own analysis that the number of confirmed cases in the U.S. has exceeded 2.5 million.

According to the Associated Press and The Washington Post, the number of new daily cases in the U.S. reached 45,300 as of the previous day, marking a record high for the third consecutive day.

According to Reuters, the states where daily COVID-19 cases hit record highs include Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Nevada, and Arizona. Including these states, the daily number of new cases in 13 states exceeded the average number of new cases over the past week.
