[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] As of midnight on the 24th, Gyeongbuk Province reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 from an overseas inflow.


Although no community transmission has been reported for 18 consecutive days since the 6th, concerns are rising as cases from overseas inflow have been occurring almost daily since last weekend.


According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 24th, a 38-year-old woman of Kazakhstani nationality tested positive for COVID-19 while in self-quarantine in Seonggeon-dong, Gyeongju City, the day before. She arrived at Incheon Airport at 9:22 a.m. on the 22nd, took the KTX overseas arrivals exclusive car to Singyeongju Station (around 3:35 p.m.), then visited the public health center by city hall transport vehicle for specimen testing, and was transported back to her home in Seonggeon-dong by the health center vehicle.


With this, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Gyeongbuk as of midnight on the 24th (according to Gyeongbuk Province's own tally) has risen to 1,344.


Meanwhile, on the 22nd and 20th, one Bangladeshi individual each in Gyeongsan and Goryeong tested positive as overseas inflow cases. The case on the 20th was the first overseas inflow case in 14 days.


On the 6th, the father of two brothers attending Daegu Agricultural Meister High School living in Gumi tested positive, and on the 5th, a female teacher in her 20s at Gyeongbuk Food Meister High School residing in Yeongcheon, Gyeongsan, was confirmed positive. On the 4th, one overseas arrival each in Pohang and Yeongcheon tested positive.
