[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 24th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 23rd that it will hold the Tuesday Latin Plaza by inviting Bruno Figueroa Fischer, the Ambassador of Mexico to Korea, at the international conference hall to introduce the friendship built between Korea and Mexico and modern Mexican culture.
The Tuesday Latin Plaza is a public diplomacy platform launched in June 2018 by the Latin America and Caribbean Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make Latin America and the Caribbean more familiar to the public.
Ambassador Figueroa will share special stories between Korea and Mexico that have not been well known on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Korean War this year. Ambassador Figueroa has collected materials and conducted interviews for several years about the activities of Mexican veterans who participated in the Korean War as part of the U.S. military.
This Tuesday Latin Plaza will be attended on-site only by pre-invited personnel such as ambassadors of the Latin American diplomatic corps in Korea (GRULAC), ambassadors of Korean War participating countries' missions in Korea, officials from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and the FEALAC national delegation, in accordance with social distancing guidelines amid the COVID-19 situation.
