Daegu City to Launch 'Good Job Bus' on 24th... Career Interruption Women Employment and Startup Consultation

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City's 'Good Job Bus,' operated to expand economic participation of women with career interruptions or unemployment, will make its first departure on the 24th at the outdoor stage in Dongseong-ro, Daegu.

This year, the 'Good Job Bus' will operate a total of seven times until November due to the COVID-19 situation. On the first day, the 24th, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., a women's job project promotion, job registration, and employment/startup counseling event will be held around the outdoor stage in Dongseong-ro.

This event is organized with a focus on promoting women's job projects to revitalize the local economy amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation, as well as a citywide campaign to overcome COVID-19.

In particular, separately from this event, a 'Cheer Up! Employment Support Kit' consisting of personal hygiene management supplies will be produced to prevent COVID-19 and restore job-seeking confidence for women in vulnerable employment groups, and it will be sequentially sent to about 500 people starting from the end of June. Additionally, during the operation of the 'Good Job Bus' by region, efforts will be made to stabilize job seekers' psychology through diversified operations such as conducting job counseling at places other than the bus, like local cafes and bakeries, through agreements to revitalize neighborhood commercial districts and improve user convenience.

Kang Myung-sook, Director of the Women's, Family, and Youth Bureau of Daegu City, said, "The event has been made to proceed safely through thorough participant hygiene management and maintaining non-contact measures to prevent COVID-19 infection," adding, "We hope local women will gain job information and opportunities to realize their employment dreams."

Meanwhile, Daegu City's 'Good Job Bus' has visited various places in the Daegu area a total of 53 times from 2016 to last year, achieving 6,527 job registrations, 1,160 on-site interviews, and 625 employment connections over the past four years.
