Naver Whale to Launch Enterprise and Public Sector Exclusive Web Browser in the Second Half of the Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Naver announced on the 22nd that it will launch the 'Whale Enterprise' version, a web browser dedicated to enterprises and public institutions, in the second half of this year.

Challenging the web browser market dedicated to enterprises and public institutions, Naver has been distributing its first product, 'PC Bang Dedicated Whale,' for free on the website of the Korea Internet PC Culture Association since the 17th.

'PC Bang Dedicated Whale' allows PC Bang users to use internet services in a safer security environment based on Naver's security know-how. It also includes features specialized for the PC Bang environment, such as screen peeking prevention.

The core of the 'Whale Enterprise' version is administrator authority functions and enhanced security features. 'Whale Enterprise' can be optimized by selecting about 80 browser functions and policies tailored to the characteristics of each organization. Administrators can block specific sites or change browser default settings for the entire organization. Naver expects that 'Whale Enterprise' will integrate dispersed services to improve organizational work efficiency and productivity.

With the recent increase in remote work and cloud platform usage, security for enterprises and public institutions has become more important, raising interest in data management. Whale automatically identifies and blocks 4.71 million malicious files and 1.01 million phishing sites based on Naver's experience and know-how, which holds the largest security data in Korea. Whale provides a safe security environment for domestic users by updating in real time against various security threats.

Naver Whale leader Kim Hyo said, "We plan to actively enter the enterprise-dedicated web browser market, which lacked alternatives, by providing differentiated security features and convenience with Whale Enterprise," and added, "We will strive to make Whale a new web service platform."
