A US Soldier in His 30s at Pyeongtaek Osan Air Base Tests Positive for COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] A US military personnel in his 30s serving at Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Pyeongtaek City announced on the 19th that an American, Mr. A, belonging to Osan Air Base, who entered the country on a military aircraft on the 17th, tested positive for COVID-19.

Mr. A was under self-quarantine after entering the country on the 17th.

A Pyeongtaek city official stated, "The confirmed case entered through the US military unit and stayed within the base before being moved to a treatment facility," adding, "There are no movement paths within the Pyeongtaek area."
