[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Hi Investment & Securities announced on the 16th that, as part of practicing ethical management and social contribution activities, it conducted an agricultural product donation event at the 'Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council' located in Gongdeok-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
This event was organized to pray for overcoming COVID-19. To revitalize the depressed rural economy in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, the home regions of DGB Financial Group, local agricultural products were purchased and sponsored to welfare facilities in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, where Hi Investment & Securities' headquarters are located.
Hi Investment & Securities purchased 300 packets of shiitake mushroom powder, a healthy ingredient produced by the Mungyeong Agricultural Cooperative in Gyeongbuk, with a sponsorship fund of 3 million KRW prepared through the DGB Social Contribution Foundation, and delivered them to the Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council.
The Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council plans to identify institutions and organizations in Yeongdeungpo in need of support and distribute all the donated items from Hi Investment & Securities accordingly.
Kim Kyung-gyu, CEO of Hi Investment & Securities, said, "We hope to provide even a small help to the farmers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk who are struggling due to COVID-19 and to those in need within the Yeongdeungpo area," adding, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities and strive to be a company that repays customers' trust and love."
