Starting on the 17th, broadcasting at least once daily from the 21st onwards
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Public Home Shopping announced on the 16th that it will hold a 'KF80 Mask Special Sales Broadcast.' The KF80 masks, approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, are relatively easier to breathe through compared to KF94 masks, leading to a surge in demand during the hot summer season.
This special sales broadcast will be conducted in a 'surprise chance' format without prior notice of the schedule, and the broadcast will end once the prepared quantity is sold out. Starting with the first broadcast on the 17th, it will be scheduled at least once daily from the 21st onward.
A set of 10 masks is priced at 11,900 KRW, making it 1,190 KRW per mask, which is cheaper than the market price. Considering the difficult situation for the entire nation due to COVID-19, Public Home Shopping explained that the price was set on the principle of 'zero profit.' Additionally, to allow as many customers as possible to purchase, orders are limited to one set per person per day.
Besides KF80 masks, Public Home Shopping plans to sell various Ministry of Food and Drug Safety certified masks such as 'KF-AD masks' and children's masks to meet the increased demand due to the start of the school term for elementary, middle, and high schools. In particular, during the 'Korea Together Sale' period hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups starting on the 26th of this month, there are plans to hold an event showcasing 'Brand K' masks selected by the Ministry.
A Public Home Shopping official said, "With the start of the school term for elementary, middle, and high schools and the arrival of summer, demand for relatively easier-to-breathe KF80 and KF-AD masks is surging," adding, "We will urgently schedule broadcasts as soon as mask supplies are secured to enable as many customers as possible to purchase."
