Neofect Fully Implements Telemedicine at Massachusetts Medical Clinic in the US... "Conducting Patient Home Rehabilitation"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Neofect announced on the 15th that the medical clinic 'Community Rehab Care (CRC)' operating in Massachusetts, USA, is implementing comprehensive telemedicine for all patients.

CRC is a brain injury specialized rehabilitation clinic acquired by Neofect to fully launch its tele-rehabilitation medical service business in the United States. Recently, due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, demand for telemedicine has increased in the US, and the Massachusetts state government has provided policy support for telemedicine.

Since the end of last month, TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) patients in Massachusetts have been able to use tele-rehabilitation services free of charge with state government funding, supported by Neofect's rehabilitation medical devices and home rehabilitation solutions.

A Neofect official stated, "Since the COVID-19 outbreak, all CRC patients have been conducting home rehabilitation through video calls," adding, "While many hospitals in the US took more than a month to establish tele-rehabilitation services, CRC was able to immediately provide tele-rehabilitation services to patients."

He continued, "With the US government's financial support for telemedicine, opportunities for rehabilitation patients to use Neofect products and solutions free of charge have expanded," and explained, "Neofect plans to expand tele-rehabilitation services nationwide in the US based on its proprietary home rehabilitation platform."

According to a McKinsey report published last month, the utilization rate of telemedicine in the US is expected to increase from 11% last year to 46% this year after COVID-19. Until last year, telemedicine mainly focused on basic and emergency care, but starting this year, it is expanding to most medical service areas, including all fields of rehabilitation therapy. Accordingly, the US telemedicine market is projected to grow more than 80 times in one year, from $3 billion (approximately 3.6 trillion KRW) last year to $250 billion (approximately 301 trillion KRW) this year.

Neofect's home rehabilitation platform incorporates AI (artificial intelligence) programs to recommend training optimized for the patient's condition. Patients can continuously perform professional rehabilitation training at home without visiting the hospital, and through the tele-rehabilitation solution, they can receive precise coaching under the guidance of medical staff.
